Mice on Lake
I have noticed in the last couple days that a lot of mice have taken up residence in the greenery in front of the "Shops on Lake" sign. While passing that, one can see numerous mice scurrying back and forth across the sidewalk in that area. It's pretty amusing, though I imagine the city will be doing something about this soon.

It'll be a shame if they go, cause mice area lot cuter than the critters I normally see on Lake, especially at night.
Viva la cucaracha! (yeah, it's probably off, but tough)
Ya no puede caminar.
Man... i've never seen mice there. They must be awfully cute, i'll have to go looking.
I noticed them for the first time very recently.
This is off topic, but can we have a report on your gimpy foot?
It's not entirely off topic if you checked out the link I provided in answer to Lemming's comment.
It's better than it was on Saturday, but it's been kind of oscillating since then. (One of my undergrad friends remarked in Chandler today that I was walking much better than on Saturday, but anybody who saw me on Saturday knows that this is not a particularly lofty achievement.) I think the cold weather is not doing me any favors and the times it's been feeling better was early in days when it was warmer.
Lemming drove me to Rite Aid (which I thought was farther away than it actually is... I'm not sure why) to get some hefty bandages that will hopefully help. I was going to go to the health center today (after skipping out on Tuesday morning because I was feeling a bit better) but then I got clued into the fact that they'll turn away anybody who is not a student. (Lame....)
I was able to convince someone at the Red Door to give me ice and a plastic bag, so that should be one good source of ice packs on campus. (I'm in the bloody condensed matter group. Damnit, I should be able to get a bloody liquid nitrogen pack for my foot! And by "bloody," I mean "fucking.") The ice pack felt really good (that was the best my foot felt since I hurt it), so I'm definitely going to be going back for more, though if that doesn't work, I will have to bug the undergrads I know to get me ice from the Houses.
On Saturday, I'm going to be seeing an appropriately-themed doctor who went to medical school with my father (and who has been my father's closest friend ever since). Then we'll see if it's just a waiting game or if something more proactive needs to be done.
There are 12 days until the next ping pong class during which I'll be in town, and I damn well better be able to play by then!
Also, as Lemming and I discussed today, I'm going to be wonderful to be around as my body breaks down in old age. If I'm this crotchedy now, just imagine how things will be then...
w.r.t. crotchedy-ness: Practice makes perfect!
I don't quite get how your link in response to Lemming's comment connected to your gimpy-ness...?
Thanks for the update. I hope your foot is all well soon!
Lidarose: It's all in the translation.
Oh, yeah. Duh.
Well, I hope you can soon caminar again.
