The Omega Cen pic a lot of places picked up went overboard on the color stretch IMHO. Color press release images are by definition massaged to look good and aren't scientifically useful in and of themselves, so I don't see the benefit of making the red and blue stars so glaring.<br /><br />NGC6217 is also a nice pic - can't go wrong with a nearby galaxy. :-)<br /><br />Cosmic Variance and Bad Astronomy both have Hubble posts up discussing the press release in more detail, if you're interested.Justinnoreply@blogger.com
