The continuing saga of Kris and Anna Benson
Kris Benson is a pitcher for the New York Mets. The Mets acquired Benson by trade from the Pirates during the 2004 season and signed him to a three-year contract the following offseason. There has been some controversy over his wife Anna's activities, which most recently include supposed posing nude for Playboy. Reportedly, the Mets have been trying to trade Benson as a result of all this stuff. It is not uncommon for players to be involved in controversy (for both stuff that should cause controversy and stuff that shouldn't cause it), but this is one of the few cases where it's been the player's wife's activities that have been the cause. (Anna apparently also has some sort of talk show.) Personally, none of this stuff seems like it should matter to anybody, but my point here is who is causing controversy rather than whether the activities should cause controversy.
