In my current game of Civ IV, I have 10 World Wonders (+ various National Wonders, special buildings from Great People, etc.) in one city. I'm currently working on my 11th Wonder for that city. What's everybody else's record in this extremely important statistic?
I don't recall my record for Civ IV, but for Civ I it was all but 3. They were all early game wonders and I didn't get them quick enough before completely out-teching and destroying all opposing civilizations, except a single one I let have a single city surrounded by armor units, and then I proceeded to build just about everything and win with a space victory. I remember having all the wonders I built in the same city, but since it was so long ago that may just be wishful thinking. The three I were missing were I think the Great Lighthouse, the Oracle (Pretty sure about this one, I was trying as I wanted the free tech and lost the race barely) and maybe Hanging Gardens, which I didn't care for at the time.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm up to 13 now.
ReplyDeleteI'm playing on the 'discover new world' scenario. I'm kicking the butt of the other Civs (granted, I'm playing on a very easy level) and am the only one with a foothold on the new world. The new world had multiple thousand years to be filled with barbarian hordes, so now I'm suddenly building a lot more military units to send them over so that I don't lose my foothold and so that I can get rid of the barbarians.
I was also concentrating on artist advancements more than military ones, but I'm partly switching gears so that I can wipe the barbarians away from my space.
I'll still end up with a cultural victory (I'll do cultural stuff in the three cities in question), but I feel like wiping the barbarians off the map.
