Pretty Pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope

CNN.com has an article showing some really pretty pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope of the Butterfly Nebula.

For some more pretty pictures, here are the results of a Google images search. (Justin: Maybe you have some recommendations on this one for the recent pictures?)

I like the Stephan's quintet pic since a collaborator has written some papers on that system. The Omega Cen pic a lot of places picked up went overboard on the color stretch IMHO. Color press release images are by definition massaged to look good and aren't scientifically useful in and of themselves, so I don't see the benefit of making the red and blue stars so glaring.

NGC6217 is also a nice pic - can't go wrong with a nearby galaxy. :-)
