D & D Scheduling for weekend of 1/6

I return the night of 1/7 from Maryland, so only Sunday 1/8 is going to be good for me.

One question I have is whether (Mike)^2 will return from England in time to play on 1/8. It seems pretty close to his ETA.

Another question I have (if yes on the first) is whether we're playing in Tim's game that weekend---more precisely, do I need to have a character ready for 1/8?

For fun with dwarves, I would like to not miss the next session (since it was necessary that I miss the last one) if that's at all possible.

The other reason I'd like to play on 1/8, by the way, is that I am gone for the entirety of the weekend after that. (Dec--Jan is a big conference season because more profs are off from teaching or the semesters haven't killed everybody yet. That's the main reason I've been gone a lot lately.)

Also, as an early warning, my schedule is going to continue to be nuts and (if things go well) will become more nuts. Why do I make this comment? Simple---things becoming more nuts means I'm getting more interviews for faculty positions; really, it's only good things that should cause my schedule to become more hectic. I'm flying back on a Saturday from the first (and so far only) scheduled interview, so at least I'll be around one day during the relevant weekend.

Sunday's best for me as well. I should be free most all of that day. I'm good with any campaign, but I will need to roll up a char for Tim as well. I assume, at least, that I'm invited to participate in such a campaign?

At present, any single day could work. It'd be really nice to know what to have ready to go though.

I may be gone very soon now, so we should probably take some time to sketch things out for this month.

Sunday is good. I'm also free Saturday evening if that becomes relevant.

My plan was to try and run my first session the weekend of 1/14-1/15, whichever day was easier to get people together. Josh, did I not send you the initial email? In any case, I'll be sending out another update soon, if it looks like I didn't send it then I'll make a point of sending you the previous blurbs as well.

I should be potentially free all weekend every weekend this month for gaming in general, with the caveat that when possible I'd like to go to salsa class, but I'll just fit that in when I can (and I'm not even sure of the schedule for that yet this month).

Ooh, and can I borrow a copy of Stormwrack from someone for a few days at some point?

As a brief comment to what Tim wrote, I am gone the entirety of the weekend of 1/15, but if the first session of that campaign is during the week (and our in-person discussion seems to indicate that it will be short enough for that to perhaps be possible, although I suppose that could be hard for Doug), then I'm game for whenever (any day that I am in town, that is).

Mylanda, when do you leave? I was thinking of dropping by Pasadena some weekend and I should make sure it's before then. I was considering the weekend of the 15th because of the holiday, but there may be a better time depending on other people's schedules.

I'm available whenever, with warning. Right now I may have stuff scheduled for saturday afternoon (meetings re: that paper), but otherwise am free. The next session for D&D is ready, as is the completion of the Serenity game. The Mage game will need a bit more time to finish describing the mirror world. The D&D game is the most critical to play before Doug leaves, as i'd like to wrap up either this section of the storyline or the whole dwarven storyline, depending on time.
Some characters can be 'missing' in the next few sessions, but not the immediate session.

As soon as I can finish writing and add a week and I'll be gone... I'm still not making good progress on writing but I have to be in Florida sometime in February so I'd better shape the hell up and write.

If it weren't already obvious, no gaming tomorrow - i've been sick since late thursday and haven't been able to prepare. Also, since there's been no response from Mike, i'd have to assume he can't make it also, and i'd rather not have people missing for the next sessions, etc. If someone else wants to run something or do boardgames, feel free. I hopefully will be feeling better by tomorrow, but we'll see.

Zif: Sorry you're sick again.

I have a ton of stuff I need to do in the couple days I'm around between conferences, so my plans for tomorrow are to go to work and get a chunk of it done (such as working on the slides for my 3 currently-unprepared).

I don't know precisely when I'll get back home, but I'll plan on seeing what's up with people in case anyone is feeling up for doing something. I'll send an e-mail to everybody before I leave the office and then try to see if I can reach people by phone.

Maybe we can meet up for dinner even if there is no gaming? I have to make up for my lack of meals today somehow...

Dinner should be ok with me, as long as you don't mind me still being in coughing stage (as I understand it, this is not the contagious stage, which is usually before showing any symptoms - if i'm wrong though, let me know and i'll stay in quarantine ;). I should be reachable via phone after 4pm-ish.
