I just bought the following Dungeons & Dragons board game.
It looks pretty cool. I'm very much looking forward to trying it.
I didn't buy any of the expansion packs, but I'll consider doing that later depending on what I think of the game.
I'm also going to by a Nintendo DS (+ New Super Mario Brothers) soon. New SMB comes out on 5/15, so it will be here waiting for me after I get back from Copenhagen.
Now I need to do some apartment-cleaning because I won't be in the mood to do this tomorrow after I come home from ping pong at 11:30.

You should wait for the DS Lite and get one of those (should come out perhaps the same day as new SMB, or that is what is speculated by many at least) - the screen is a lot brighter, the design is more slick, and it is an overall upgrade, much like the sp was for the gba.
I already have a DS and I'm waiting to get my hands on a DS Lite (not to mention new SMB).

Lemming mentioned the same piece of advice.
I'm keen on the brighter screen. I have the original GBA and I tried to play Castlevania (the first GBA one) on it. Yuck. I'm definitely planning to go ahead and get the better model.
I should figure out what else to get. If people are still playing Mario Kart, I might do that, but I don't want to bother if I'm going to go solo (you know, instead of nailing Princess Peach against a fence, to use a now-classical euphemism). I might get Puyo Puyo, depending on what frills it has. (Jing, you have a Puyo Puyo butt-kicking waiting for you! When are you going to come down to Caltech and get what's coming to you?)
(Z here) DS Lite are easy to get at reasonable prices, I got one for L for her birthday. lik-sang has them, and prolly other import places. I got it within 2 days of ordering from there, with the slightly more expensive shipping (26 vs 20).
Re: the D&D board game, based on the site description, i'd call it a KODT board game rip-off, without the meta humor, and prolly better art/figures. Still worth a shot though, as that kind of game is fun. :)
I remember you mentioned that. I don't mind waiting and having it as something to look forward to when returning from my trip. I've been pretty patient about the DS thus far and waited until after my work spike. (I was hoping to get it as a reward for getting a job offer, but alas it doesn't seem like I'm going to want to wait that long.)
I never played KODT. I'd be up for trying that as well.
I'll have a game night once the D & D game arrives (or earlier if I get impatient). This is in addition to Friday, of course. :)
The likely big difference between the KODT game and the D&D one is that the GM player is the antagonist in the KODT game, but likely a facilitator (or meant to be one) in the D&D game. The whole point of the KODT game was for the players to beat the GM, or for the GM to kill all the players via traps/orcs. D&D as the copy reads looks like a more traditional dungeon crawl. Looking forward to playing it though. As mentioned before i'll prolly not be able to make it friday until late, but i'm sure it'll be played multiple times.
I should clarify my phrasing: I made this post right after I bought the game. It's not physically in my posession yet, and it won't arrive by tomorrow. In my phrasing of the post, this is not clear at all.
I'll let everybody know when it arrives.
By the way, does anybody local own the KODT game? Clearly, I should be educated...
