In any event, today I am heading off to Washington, D.C. to principal-investigator workshop that is related to a new NSF grant of mine.

On Thursday, I'll be giving a seminar in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at George Mason University. It will be Mason@Mason — a fixed point!

What Happens in Oxford Stays in Oxford

I arrived in Oxford last Sunday and will be here for a while, staying in Somerville and hanging out with my peeps (including some of my former students) from College as well as the Mathematical Institute. It's great to still be part of the extended family!

I'll also be participating and speaking at Howison-fest, a workshop in honor of Sam Howison's 60th birthday.

I am heading off to the 2017 SIAM Network Science Workshop, which I am co-organizing with Michelle Girvan. I'll also be making occasional cameos at the SIAM Annual Meeting. On Friday night, I'll go to the local baseball game to see the Pirates host the Cardinals.

I'll be in London for a couple of days for a meeting with one of my industrial collaborators and the Royal Society Workshop on Mathematics for the Modern Economy. Come to the workshop!

2017 SIAM Workshop on Network Science (13–14 July)

Along with Michelle Girvan, I am co-organizing the 2017 SIAM Workshop on Network Science.

It will take place in Pittsburgh, PA, USA on 13–14 July 2017, and it is co-located with the SIAM Annual Meeting.

Abstract submissions (due 27 February) are now open, and the deadline for early-career researchers to apply for travel support is 20 January. Invited speakers will be announced shortly.

I'm heading to the Mathematical Biosciences Institute yet again. This time, I am presenting a talk in their workshop on population models in the 21st century. I'll mostly be discussing prior centuries.

I had heading to Columbus, OH to be in residence at the Mathematical Biosciences Institute (MBI) at The Ohio State University for the next month as part of a semester-long emphasis program on dynamics of biologically-inspired networks that I helped organize. I also co-organized workshop 3 (on generalized network structures and dynamics) and will participate in workshops 3 and 4 (on control and observability of network dynamics).
