D & D scheduling for weekend of 1/27

I am available Friday night, Sunday, and Monday.

Saturday is ok late after I get back from a play I am seeing, which should mean after something like 9pm. (Hence, it's really better for me to play on one of the other days.)

My proposal is the following: We play D & D (Tim's campaign, I assume) either Friday or Sunday and we have a more general gaming day at my crib on Monday (as it's an Institute holiday, we might as well game). I haven't played Apples to Apples for a while, and I want to play the game Mike got again. There are also other games I'd like to try, etc.

I'm busy Friday night. All other times are workable.

I likely won't have the prep done for the next session by the weekend. I might... the next session will hopefully be about the same size as the first.

1000 Blank White Cards is teh win. Must play more.

It's unlikely i'll be ready for Fun w/Dwarves, but it's going to be much later in the week before I really know. I'd prefer saturday or monday, but Sunday can work also (just there's something i'd like to do that night already).

I'd be willing to get either Mutant Chronicles or Renegade Legion scenerios ready if people are interested... I'd even open up Exalted if people would like and are willing to email me a paragraph about how I can do better. Sorta need to know soon though, it takes time to get things playable really... Although, you know, I might just make you go after Frigid Rose but use the Mutant Chronicles Citadel, that'd save alot of time... Anyway, lemme know, please.

And now for something completely different! I am trying to get the hosting of the Superbowl (that's not this weekend but next), if that is ok or not with people, again let me know. Sorta makes sense that I host it since G&P hosted the wildcard and first round and Z&L hosted the divisionals.

I'm sorry, turns out I cannot be with you all this weekend. I need to make a trip to Ohio.

Thus far, Monday seems like the best bet. If you like, I could make a one-shot for then (given that others may not be ready, it makes sense for this week to be the week---it's been a relatively light week for me, and that likely not be the case in subsequent weeks), although I'd prefer to hold it at my place to avoid bringing a lot of books with me. If this is what we're going to do, I'd like to know very soon and I will need people to make characters. (This would probably be my version of a mini-cheese-grinder dungeon. The object would be to survive or, at least, to die as few times as possible.)

Hopefully I'll be able to join in on a one-shot, but if I stay as sick as I've been since Monday, I'm going to have to cancel my weekly trip to Pasadena this weekend.

It turns out that Monday is not a JPL holiday. For some reason the list of holidays is on the password-protected part of the JPL web...

I'm free Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night.

Due to my continued bronchial-related conflicts, I will officially not be joining a one-shot or other boardgaming activity this weekend. I do want to catch a Mason game, of course, so I'll make it up to you later. Unfortunately as of now this weekend will not see me out of the house if I don't have to fulfill a responsibility to continuity vis a vis Serenity et. al.

Justin: What is the earliest time on Monday that you can make it?

It seems that Monday night is the only night that everybody who's not sick can make it. (I'd like to not prevent Joe from the Sunday night thing he mentioned, and Saturday I can only make it late at night.) I haven't heard from Mike or Lorian, but I will assume lack of answer means complete flexibility.

Basically, given the uncertainty it seems to me right now that board games make the most sense for this week, so my current proposition is to have board games at my place on Monday evening. I'll run what I have in mind (concerning which I haven't written anything, although I've been reminiscing about my version of some nasty traps that I'd like to spring; well, my version of some and at least a couple that are straight from my evil thoughts) on a future weekend.

If people want to spend time making characters for this future one-shot on Monday (taking advantage of some of the splat books I have at home), I have decided on what level and creation rules I'll be doing. (That way, Josh and Doug won't have to miss anything.) We can do that while we play games.

Anyway, let me know what you'd like to do.

Monday evening - 7pm is no problem, maybe a bit earlier depending on how things are going that day.

Mason + diabolical traps = scary. :-D

Hrm, long "words" don't work to well in comments, do they?

Fwiw, I might be down with the one-shot, but I'm really not into games that get... confrontational between the GMs and the players. The pinnacle of emotional stability I am, I've found that those games don't... suit me.

I'm definitely up for 1001 cards. That's on the list of things to do. I need to remember to print out a copy of the rules and buy index cards, although Mike bringing his deck works too.

The game isn't planned to be confrontational. It's planned to be a dungeon hack where the goal is to survive. There will be puzzles, etc. and the idea is to get through it by dying as few times as possible. (I have respawning rules for this, although one can make more than one character if one wants. You only need one, however.)

Not sure I will have time for anything this weekend now. Paper is now submitted, but everything else that got delayed to work on it is now desperately needing attention.

The one-shot idea isn't appealing to me at the moment (for reasons I can explain in person), but I appreciate that you are going to run one. :)

(couldn't find an edit button. Previous comment was deleted due to a grievous typo causing "now" to be written as "not", which was certainly not the case, whew)
