Dodgers sign Andruw Jones to 2-year contract

In a stupid move, the Dodgers have signed free agent Andruw Jones to a 2-year contract. We have young outfielders who will now get less playing time (or get traded) who I think will do better than Jones next year. What the Hell are we doing making moves like this? It's not as bad as signing Juan Pierre, but this doesn't improve our team. At least the contract is only for two years...

This move just confirmed -- despite evidence offered in October to the contrary -- that Scott Boras is still a genius. An evil genius, to be sure, but a genius nonetheless.

I agree completely on both counts.

Rob Neyer made an interesting comment comparing the clamor to get Marvin Miller into the Hall of Fame with a similar thing we're likely to see for Scott Boras in 20 years.

The idea of Boras in the Hall of Fame scares me...
